Family Readiness Center Fund

Through the generosity of citizens in the Colorado Springs area, NHDF established the Family Readiness Center Fund for use in sponsoring military family support programs at Fort Carson’s Family Readiness Center.

The Fund underwrites the costs associated with support programs that assist families of deployed soldiers as they cope with the stress of deployment and separation. 

In 2010, the Military Family Readiness Center Fund helped to support a number of programs for military families, including: a Defensive Training Course “Fight Back 101” , an Iraqi Cultural Awareness Day and an Afghan Cultural Awareness Day to give families a sense of what their deployed soldier may be experiencing (food, sites, customs, etc), and a “Learn to Dance” course to twirl the deployed on the dance floor upon their return.

NHDF looks forward to continuing its support for these types of military family support programs to ensure that the hardships faced by the families of deployed soldiers      are met and that they know how much we appreciate each of their sacrifices.
