National Homeland Defense Foundation, with the support of Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), once again hosted a Thought Leadership Symposium in Washington, D.C. in May, 2010.

2010’s Thought Leadership Conference theme was, “The Whole-of-Government Approach to Homeland Security and Defense—Today’s Issues and a Vision for the Future.” 

The Thought Leadership Symposium brought together key stakeholders in the homeland security and defense industries to discuss topics of critical importance in today’s insecure environment.

This event was the third in a series of NHDF and SAIC-sponsored conferences designed to stimulate discussion on and bring focus to significant homeland defense and security challenges.  The framework for this conference was built around the new conceptual initiative for dealing with a broad range of national and international security issues – this initiative is called the “Whole of Government” approach.  It recognizes difficult national security issues are neither one dimensional in complexity nor wholly addressable by a single branch of government.
